The Palazzo dei Pio, which is Carpi’s museum and exhibitions palace, was formerly a family owned castle and features architecture from several centuries including a watch tower added in the 17th century and a façade from the renaissance period.

The Cathedral (or Duomo) in Carpi was designed by Peruzzi, a peer of da Vinci, and is another stunning example of our architecture, it’s beginnings dating back to the 16th century.

The only one of its kind in Italy, the Museo al Deportato is a monument to all those Italian Jews who were sent to concentration camps during the war.  Over 14,000 names appear in the Hall of Names, in remembrance of those deported.

The 52 columned piazza in Carpi is the largest in the region and makes a great meeting place, or somewhere to take a break from your meanderings.
