Sassuolo is famous as the main Italian district of ceramic industry, whose history is reflected in the Palazzina della Casiglia, already home of Assopiastrelle, where it hosted the Documentation Centre of the Italian ceramic tile. The exhibition offers an interesting itinerary into the artistic, technological and commercial history of this artisan product still relevant for the city's economy.
But Sassuolo is also known for its beautiful Palazzo Ducale: a true jewel of Baroque culture from northern Italy, that was frescoed and decorated magnificently by the French Jean Boulanger, official painter to the Estense court.
