The Carpi’s square is a little jewel of the Renaissance, but in Carpi there are many masterpieces of Romanesque.
We propose a tour for those who love to discover and appreciate the architectural beauty of which these masterpieces are expressions.
A two-day tour to the discovery of Romanesque art in the province of Modena. From Modena Cathedral (Unesco World Heritage) one of the highest expressions of Romanesque architecture in Europe, built in 1099 by the genius of the architect Lanfranco and sculptor Wiligelmo. Continue the tour to visit Carpi and the Church of Santa Maria in Castello called "La Sagra" dating back to mid-eighth century by Astolfo King of the Longobardi. The tour concludes with a visit to the splendid Nonantola’s Abbey, originally belonged to the monastery founded in 752 AD built by Anselmo Longobardo.
